MyHealthPEI supports devices from the following manufacturers:

Device Support: Check with your medical and fitness device manufacturer/vendor for support with MyHealthPEI connection. Using a single device with multiple records is not recommended.

Connecting a Device

You may already use a medical/health device to take readings like your blood pressure. Using a device that connects to MyHealthPEI makes getting information into your health record a lot easier.

Important: MyHealthPEI securely supports a number of medical and fitness devices. Devices that are currently not supported may not work as expected. Using a single device with multiple records is not recommended.

Create Device Account

Create an online account with your device manufacturer

Log in to MyHealthPEI

Access your MyHealthPEI account

Go to My Settings

Navigate to My Settings > My Connected Devices

Click Connect

Click Connect for your device brand (e.g., if you have a Fitbit device, click Connect under the Fitbit category)

Follow the Prompts

Complete the authorization process and confirm data types you want to sync

Device-Specific Instructions

Fitbit Device

  1. Create an online Fitbit account
  2. Log in to your MyHealthPEI account
  3. Go to My Settings > My Connected Devices
  4. Click Connect where the Fitbit box appears
  5. Sign into your Fitbit account
  6. Give MyHealthPEI consent to get information from your Fitbit device. Click Allow
  7. Confirm the "data types" that you want in MyHealthPEI. Click Confirm
  8. Check your Activity Logs in Personal Logs to see the information added from your device

To sync data: Go to My Settings > My Connected Devices > Click the 3 vertical dots in the Fitbit box > Click Sync Now

To disconnect: Log in to your online Fitbit account > Click the gear icon > Applications > Revoke Access > Confirm

Garmin Device

  1. Create an online Garmin account
  2. Log in to MyHealthPEI
  3. Go to My Settings > My Connected Devices
  4. Click Connect where the Garmin box appears
  5. Sign in to your Garmin account
  6. Confirm the data types that you want in your MyHealthPEI account. Click Save
  7. Give MyHealthPEI consent to access information from your Garmin device. Click Agree
  8. Check the applicable Activity logs in Personal Logs to see your uploaded results

To sync data: Go to My Settings > My Connected Devices > Click the More Options menu (3 vertical dots) in the Garmin box > Click Sync Now

To disconnect: Log in to your online Garmin account > Account Settings > Account Information > Applications section > Click Disconnect button associated with MyHealthPEI

Withings Device

  1. Create an online Withings account
  2. Log in to your MyHealthPEI account
  3. Go to My Settings > My Connected Devices
  4. Click Connect where you see the Withings box
  5. Enter your email address and password
  6. Click Allow this app to let MyHealthPEI get information from your Withings device
  7. Confirm the information you want in MyHealthPEI. Click Confirm
  8. Check Results and Readings and Activity logs in Personal Logs to see information added from your device

To sync data: Go to My Settings > My Connected Devices > Click the 3 vertical dots in the Withings box > Click Sync Now

To disconnect: Sign in to your Withings account > Profile menu > Settings > Partners > MANAGE MY PARTNERS > Disconnection > Disconnect MyHealthPEI button

OMRON Device

  1. Create an online OMRON account
  2. Log in to MyHealthPEI
  3. Go to My Settings > My Connected Devices
  4. Click Connect where the OMRON box appears
  5. Sign in to your OMRON account
  6. Confirm the data types that you want in your MyHealthPEI account. Click Save
  7. Give MyHealthPEI consent to access information from your OMRON device. Click Agree
  8. Check the applicable Activity logs in Personal Logs to see your uploaded results

To sync data: Go to My Settings > My Connected Devices > Click the More Options menu (3 vertical dots) in the OMRON box > Click Sync Now

To disconnect: Log in to your online OMRON account > Account Settings > Account Information > Applications section > Click Disconnect button associated with MyHealthPEI

Privacy Notice: Third-party devices are owned and managed by their respective companies. Each device provider maintains its own privacy policy and terms of service. MyHealthPEI does not store your device usernames or passwords.

Which medical and fitness device brands does MyHealthPEI support?

MyHealthPEI supports the following brands of medical and fitness devices:

  • Fitbit
  • Garmin
  • Nokia/Withings
  • OMRON

Can I remove or disconnect my device from MyHealthPEI?

Yes. You can do this by logging in to your device account and removing access to MyHealthPEI. Please review the applicable step-by-step specific instructions for removing or disconnecting your device from MyHealthPEI in the device-specific instructions above.

Why were these device brands and devices chosen?

The current list of supported brands and devices were chosen based on consumer popularity and system integration requirements.

Is my device information secure?

MyHealthPEI can connect to certain third party devices so that data from your devices may be uploaded into MyHealthPEI. Third party devices – such as Fitbit, OMRON, etc. -- are owned and managed by third parties. Each device provider maintains its own privacy policy, End User License Agreement and/or other terms and conditions. Such terms and conditions govern your use of the third party devices, connections and associated software.

Additional terms and conditions, including access to the third party products, may be modified by the third parties in their discretion and as such we cannot guarantee your continued access to the devices. PEI and TELUS Health makes no representations that the third party companies are compliant with data privacy legislation or other specific laws and regulations.

Do you store usernames and passwords to devices connected to MyHealthPEI?

No. You need to log in to your device account when you first connect a device, but MyHealthPEI does not store your username or password. When your device is linked to your health record, you will not need to use your device's username and password again.

Will more devices get added to MyHealthPEI?

Yes. New devices will be added to MyHealthPEI based on user feedback and application updates/upgrades as MyHealthPEI evolves. We don't have an ETA at this time.

Can I add or delete a reading?

Yes. To add a reading, connect your device to MyHealthPEI. If your device is already connected:

  1. Log in to MyHealthPEI
  2. Go to My Settings
  3. Click My Connected Devices
  4. Click the More Options (three vertical dots) button of your device brand
  5. Click Sync Now
  6. View your data results in your logs or Results and Readings

You also have the option of manually entering data into your personal health record.

How do I edit data from my devices when I am in MyHealthPEI?

You cannot edit data that you have uploaded to MyHealthPEI from a device. However, you can edit data that you have manually entered into MyHealthPEI. To make changes to your device data, you need to log in to your device account and make edits there. Any edits that you make to data in your Fitbit, Garmin, or Withings accounts may get sent to MyHealthPEI once you sync your device. Manual entries to your OMRON account do not get sent to MyHealthPEI.

Why do I not see my device data in MyHealthPEI?

Make sure that you have synced your device with the device-specific application on your mobile device (e.g. phone or tablet) or computer. After you sync your device to MyHealthPEI, it might take 2 to 3 minutes for your data to arrive.

Please note that data only gets sent to MyHealthPEI if you have authorized MyHealthPEI to receive your data when you first connected your device. You can see the list of types of data you have authorized by opening My Connected Devices in My Settings, and then clicking on the More Information link (3 vertical dots). A window appears that shows you the data types you have authorized and lets you to authorize MyHealthPEI to get more of your data if you choose that option.

What do I do if all of my results are red or outside of normal target range?

If you have concerns about your results (e.g. Blood Pressure and Pulse readings, Blood Sugars and Insulin Use readings, etc), please contact your doctor or call 211.
